Young Addresses Reagan National Defense Forum

WASHINGTON – On Saturday, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) spoke at the Reagan National Defense Forum, an annual event that brings together key national security leaders and stakeholders.
Young participated in a panel discussion focused on how to best modernize our nation’s defense capabilities. Young spoke on the urgent need to out-innovate and outcompete the Chinese Communist Party in biotechnology and artificial intelligence in order to ensure America’s warfighters maintain a technological edge and American families are safe. Senator Young also previewed the upcoming findings and recommendations of the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology, on which he serves as Chair.
Young was joined on the panel by General David W. Allvin, Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force; Joe Lonsdale, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, 8VC; Heidi Shyu, U.S. Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering; and Toni Townes-Whitley, CEO, SAIC. The panel was moderated by Sharon Weinberger, National Security Editor at the Wall Street Journal.
