Young Statement on USMCA
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) today issued the following statement regarding the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):
“After a full year of unhelpful foot dragging by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democrats have finally come to the table on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Trade with our North American neighbors is critical to Hoosier manufacturers and farmers. Indiana is the most manufacturing intensive state in the country, and one out of four Hoosier manufacturing businesses directly export to Canada or Mexico, resulting in roughly 60,000 jobs. Additionally, 95 percent of farms in Indiana are family owned and they rely on access to markets. While I am still reviewing compromise provisions which were finalized this week, I am hopeful that both chambers can move to pass implementing legislation for the benefit of our farmers, manufacturers, and all American workers.”
