Young Statement on Congressman Pete Visclosky

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) today issued the following statement upon Congressman Pete Visclosky’s announcement that he will not seek re-election in 2020. Rep. Visclosky was first elected to represent Indiana’s 1st Congressional District in 1984.

“Congressman Visclosky has been a tireless advocate for Hoosiers in Northwest Indiana for the last 35 years. His list of accomplishments is long, and his impact will be felt for years to come. I’ve had the privilege to work with Pete to make Indiana Dunes our state’s first National Park, move the West Lake Corridor and South Shore Expansion projects forward, and more. I thank Pete for his service and wish him the best.”
