VIDEO: Young Discusses the VA Mission Act on One Year Anniversary

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) spoke on the Senate floor about the VA Mission Act, transformative legislation aimed at modernizing the Veteran Affairs’ health care system.

“I was proud to support and vote for the VA Mission Act, which was signed into law one year ago this month. This new program could dramatically change the way our veterans receive care. For the first time Veterans can walk-in to a local urgent care clinic, like most Americans can, as long as it’s in network, and receive care that day at no cost them – up to three visits per year,” said Senator Young.

As an outspoken advocate for veterans and the care they receive, Senator Todd Young has signed on to numerous bills aimed at transforming the VA. Some of his efforts in addition to the VA Mission Act include: Protect Our Disabled Heroes Act of 2019, Good Accounting Obligation in Government (GAO-IG) Act, Department of Veterans Affairs Oversight Enhancement Act of 2018, Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act, Veterans Crisis Line Study Act of 2017, as well as, sending a letter calling for the Inspector General to investigate the VA’s failure to pay Veterans full benefits.
