Confirmed: Young Weighs in on Confirmations and Inauguration

Washington D.C. –United States Senator Todd Young (IN) weighed in on the confirmation of Generals Kelly and Mattis following the Senate’s vote on the first group of cabinet members:

“I was glad to confirm two individuals who will help keep Americans safe and secure at home and abroad. Generals Kelly and Mattis are well respected on both sides of the aisle, and I look forward to working with them. I hope the remaining members of the Cabinet will be confirmed without further delay or obstruction.”

Sen. Young also offered his perspective on the Inauguration ceremony and meeting with Hoosiers prior to the big event:

“Inauguration day is a hopeful time. It is the culmination of the will of Hoosiers and the American people. Today, we come together and, at least for one day, we put our political and ideological differences aside to celebrate a uniquely American tradition: the peaceful transition of power. I was glad to share this experience with hundreds of Hoosiers who made the trip to our nation’s capital for this historic event.”
