PHOTOS: Senator Young Speaks to Indiana Farm Bureau
FRENCH LICK, Ind. – Today, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) spoke at the Indiana Farm Bureau State Convention in French Lick. Senator Young discussed the Senate’s recently passed tax reform bill that benefits Indiana’s farmers, and his continued advocacy on behalf of the state’s vital agriculture industry.
“Last week the Senate passed a tax reform bill for the first time in 30 years. This bill will help create a tax code that is simpler, fairer, and relieves burdens on Indiana’s family farms,” said Senator Young.
“Indiana is a leader in crop production and agriculture, and I am proud of our robust and active farming community. I will continue advocating on behalf of our state’s vital agriculture industry in Washington,” Senator Young added.
This summer, Senator Young hosted agriculture secretary Sonny Perdue at the Indiana State Fair to provide a firsthand look at Indiana’s vibrant farming community. As the current farm bill nears expiration in September 2018, Senator Young has pledged to continue traveling the state, hosting roundtables and visiting farms to ensure Indiana’s needs are reflected in the bill.
