WASHINGTON – Today, Senators Todd Young (R-Ind.) and Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) participated in a Q&A event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) focused on global technology competition.
Senators Young and Bennet discussed strategic competition in advanced technologies, such as semiconductors, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence, and ways to strengthen American leadership.
In 2023, Senator Young and Bennet introduced the Global Technology Leadership Act. The legislation would establish an Office of Global Competition Analysis to assess how the United States fares in key emerging technologies relative to other countries.
“We need to use this multigenerational competition of values between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party to become a better version of ourselves and to give the American people a stake in this. That is what I see as the end game of this effort,” said Senator Young.
