Young, Donnelly, Hollingsworth Tour Crane with Gen. David Goldfein, Air Force Chief of Staff
Crane, Indiana – U.S. Senators Todd Young and Joe Donnelly, and Congressman Trey Hollingsworth (IN-09) today hosted General David Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, at Naval Support Activity Crane in Crane, Indiana. General Goldfein is the highest ranking officer in the Air Force and is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
During the visit to Crane, Donnelly, Young, Hollingsworth, and Goldfein, accompanied by Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Commanding Officer Captain Mark Oesterreich, toured several labs on base and heard from both uniformed and civilian personnel whose work helps keep Americans safe and ensure our service members maintain a technological advantage over potential adversaries. They also discussed Crane’s growing support to the Air Force and potential avenues for an increased Air Force presence at Crane.

Young, member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said, “I am grateful that General Goldfein accepted the invitation to visit Crane. General Goldfein was impressed by the professionalism and skill of the workforce at Crane, as well as their critical and growing contribution to our national security. I look forward to working with him to continue increasing Crane’s extraordinary support to the Air Force.”
Donnelly, member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said, “Crane’s cutting edge work provides our warfighters with the tools they need to succeed. I’m so proud to have brought General Goldfein here to see firsthand Crane’s growing work for the Air Force and discuss how we can build a permanent Air Force presence at Crane in the future.”
Hollingsworth said, “As rogue nations like North Korea and Iran continue to threaten American lives, I am proud to stand with hard-working Hoosiers here at Crane who are working tirelessly to protect Americans. I look forward to working with General Goldfein to support and invest in America’s global strategic dominance.”
Goldfein said, “The work being done at Crane is absolutely essential. To the men and women at Crane, I just want to say thank you for the incredible work you’re doing.”
Osterreich said, “We were honored to have General Goldfein at Crane. It was exciting to show General Goldfein some of Crane’s capabilities, as well as many of the people whose work directly supports the Warfighter. I would like to thank Senators Donnelly and Young for initiating this visit.”
