Young Shares Third Fair Shot Agenda Video Focused on Housing Affordability
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) today released his latest Fair Shot Agenda video, which focuses on the nation’s housing affordability crisis. In the video, Senator Young visits with community leaders who have transformed the Brookside neighborhood from one of highest crime areas in Indianapolis into a healthy community.
“They’ve shown that the real platform for change across our country comes all the way down to neighborhood level,” says Senator Young in the video. “Whether it’s our urban communities or rural communities, I hear about the same challenges that people are facing time again. They want their children and grandchildren to be able play a meaningful role in this growing and changing economy, they want affordable housing.”
Tackling the housing crisis is one of Senator Young’s top priorities. In February, his Housing Choice Voucher Mobility Demonstration Act was signed into law by the President to help families have access to greater opportunity areas. His legislation to establish a housing affordability task force has also received widespread support from housing leaders.
Senator Young also recently visited the Northside neighborhood in Indianapolis with former Colts player Marlin Jackson to see his efforts to tackle the issue of affordable housing in low-income communities like the Crown Hill area. Senator Young spoke about affordable housing at the League of Cities Congressional City Conference with Gary Mayor Karen Freeman Wilson earlier this month.
Senator Young’s Fair Shot Agenda is focused on ensuring sure every Hoosier has a fair shot at success by tackling some of the nation’s most pressing issues. Previous Fair Shot Agenda videos have focused on the opioid epidemic, and Indiana’s vital farming community.
