Young Votes to Confirm Indiana’s Amy Barrett to 7th Circuit Court of Appeals
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) today voted to confirm Notre Dame Law Professor Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 7th District. Professor Barrett was confirmed by the full United States Senate on a 55 to 43 vote.
“Being nominated to serve in a lifetime appointment for a U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is a privilege few in the legal profession ever attain. Professor Barrett brings the skillset and temperament needed for the job, and there is no question she will make an outstanding appellate judge,” said Senator Young. “Professor Barrett is the first Hoosier woman to earn a seat on the 7th Circuit Court, and she makes Indiana proud.”
