WASHINGTON, D.C. –This week, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) met with Indiana’s 2018 Cherry Blossom Princess, Katrina Zdanowicz graduate of Crown Point High and introduced her at the Cherry Blossom Congressional Reception at the U.S. Botanic Garden.
“The Cherry Blossom Princess program selects individuals based on strong volunteer work and leadership within their community, and Katrina is an excellent representative for our state. I’m proud of Katrina and wish her luck in her bright future ahead,” said Senator Todd Young.
Katrina Zdanowicz is from Crown Point, Ind. She currently lives in Washington working at Gartner, Inc., while simultaneously obtaining her master’s degree from George Washington University.
Every year, up to 55 princesses — each representing a state, a U.S. territory or D.C. — are selected on the basis of written applications that demonstrate their leadership abilities, volunteer work and passion for the states they represent. The program is organized by the National Conference of State Societies (NCSS). NCSS is celebrating its 70th Annual Cherry Blossom Celebration April 8 – April 14, 2018.
