Young, Colleagues Introduce Resolution to Block Unconstitutional Biden ATF Rule and Protect Second Amendment Rights

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) joined Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) and 43 Senate Republicans in introducing a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act to strike down the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ rule on the definition of “Engaged in the Business” as a Dealer in Firearms, which ignores the law and congressional intent. The Biden Administration’s proposed rule flagrantly violates the Constitution by attempting to require anyone who sells a firearm to register as a federal firearm licensee.

“I have always been a strong supporter and defender of the Second Amendment, and I am committed to protecting the constitutional rights of law-abiding Hoosiers. American citizens have the right to engage in lawful firearms transactions without unconstitutional hurdles imposed by federal bureaucrats. I am committed to fighting this rule and protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Hoosiers,” said Senator Young.
