Young Touts Historic Paycheck Protection Program and Recent Jobs Report

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) spoke on the historic Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) helping millions of American businesses reopen and remain solvent as shown by the most recent jobs report.

Senator Young discussed the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act that extends the forgiveness period for PPP loans from eight weeks to 24 weeks to provide recipients with more time to spend the PPP funds and give much needed relief to Hoosier businesses. Senator Young proposed a similar measure in his RESTART Act last month.

“The Paycheck Protection Program is clearly working based on not just the feedback I’m hearing from my constituents, but also based on the jobs report that we have just received... Let’s hope there is more good news to come,” said Senator Young. “I for one stand ready to continue to fight on behalf of Hoosier workers and Hoosier small businesses and look forward to working with my colleagues on that effort on an on-going basis.”
