Young Votes Yes, USMCA Sails Through Committee
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) voted to advance the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Implementation Actduring a U.S. Senate Finance Committee hearing today. The bill passed out of the committee on a 25-3 vote. It must then come before the full Senate for consideration before it can be ratified.
“I am pleased that we have come to this moment in the Finance Committee. It’s taken a bit longer than many of us would have liked and I hope in the future trade agreements can be considered more expeditiously…” said Senator Young.“In my state, trade certainty with Canada and Mexico is vital. Over 233,000 jobs are directly attributable to our trade with Canada and Mexico.”
